Secure the account immediately

Log into Mercury and note all account balances including checking, savings, and treasury accounts. If unauthorized access is a concern, change the password and review recent transactions.

Review and freeze debit/virtual cards

Check Cards for active physical and virtual debit cards. Freeze any cards that could be misused while keeping essential business cards active for operations.

Add an authorized team member

Go to Settings → Team and add a trusted person with appropriate permissions. Ensure someone can manage the account for business continuity.

Review scheduled and recurring payments

Check for scheduled transfers, bill payments, and recurring transactions. These may include rent, payroll funding, vendor payments, and SaaS subscriptions. Decide which to continue.

Download all bank statements and complete transaction history. These records are essential for tax filings and estate settlement.
