Step-by-Step Guide

Go to Google Inactive Account Manager

Visit myaccount.google.com/inactive and sign in. This lets you plan what happens to your Google account after a period of inactivity.

Set the inactivity timeout

Choose how long Google waits before considering the account inactive (3, 6, 12, or 18 months). Google will attempt to contact you before taking action.

Add trusted contacts

Add up to 10 people who will be notified when the account becomes inactive. You can choose which data each person can download.

Choose data sharing and deletion preferences

Select which Google services' data each contact can access (Gmail, Drive, Photos, etc.). Optionally set the account to auto-delete after notification.
