Do NOT pause or close the store
A live Shopify store with traffic and revenue is worth significantly more than a closed one. Keep it running while you assess options. Even if you plan to sell, the store must stay active.

Grant staff access immediately
Go to Settings → Users and permissions → Add staff. Give a trusted person full admin access. They need to fulfill orders, handle customer service, and maintain operations.

Check Shopify Payments and payout schedule
Go to Settings → Payments → View payouts. Note the payout schedule and connected bank account. Ensure payouts will continue to process to an accessible account.

Get a professional store valuation
List the store on acquire.com, Empire Flippers, or Quiet Light for a professional valuation. Factors include revenue, profit, traffic, and customer base. This could be worth tens of thousands or more.

Document all operations
Record supplier contacts, fulfillment process, customer service procedures, and any SOPs. A buyer or successor will need this. Export customer list, order history, and product catalog.
