Step-by-Step Guide

1

Keep the Android phone active

Aegis is Android-only. Keep the phone charged and do not factory reset it. The vault is encrypted and stored locally.

2

Find the vault password or biometric access

Aegis vault is encrypted with a password. If biometric unlock is enabled, use the phone's fingerprint/face to access. Otherwise, find the vault password.

3

Look for exported backup files

Aegis allows exporting encrypted vault backups. Check the phone's storage, cloud drives, or external storage for .json backup files.

4

Use codes to access linked accounts

Once the vault is unlocked, generate codes for each linked account. Document which accounts use Aegis for 2FA.
